This week's shopping efforts

I had every intention of sharing the fruit of my shopping earlier.  However, there is this thing called "life".  I pledged at the start of this blog that my blog would never become a stress or a priority over many other life "things".  I kept true to my word, thus the late week grocery post.

I spent $31.33 at Weis this week.  However, my crackers have a full cashback rebate.  Thus decreasing my total to $28.33.  You will see a theme with my Weis shopping.  I do not spend much money there.

I stocked up on cheese, coffee creamer and pasta.  I saved $11.50 using coupons.  I also bought a 1/2 gallon of milk to make yogurt this week.  Yes, I will show you how.  It is beyond easy, yet you will impress yourself.

I also snagged a gingerbread house for $2!  This will be packed away with my Christmas stuff for next year.  We don't eat our gingerbread houses, so it is no big deal to store for a year.

I spent $32.01 at Aldi.  However, $14 of that amount was Lego's marked 50% off.  I am saving them for Birthday presents for my boys.  That brings my real Aldi grocery total to $18.

Yesterday, I hit CVS.  I can't wait to share with you how to play the drugstore game!   I spent more there than I was planning because I found shampoo marked 75% off!  I spent $24.21 out of pocket.  I now  have $10 left in ECB's for next week!  (and yes, it will take us a LONG time to drink all of that soda!)

Finally, I hit Eastern Farmers Market.  I bought produce. I also splurged and bought lunchmeat and cheese.  I say "splurged" because lunchmeat will easily kill your budget.  Since, I have a surplus going on, I decided we had room in ours to enjoy a few yummy sandwiches this week.  I spent a total of $20.

Grocery budget update:
     Weis $28.33
     Aldi: $18
     Market: :$20
     CVS: $24.21
Total spent this week: $90.33
Total spent for January: $173.07 (goal is $400 or less)
Total spent for 2011: $173.07 (goal is $4800 or less)
